İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş – Leading Steel Producer in Turkey Since 1975 Founded in 1975 in the Aliağa Heavy Industry Zone to produce rebar, İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. commissioned its rolling mill in 1983 and its steel mill in 1987, maintaining uninterrupted production for 49 years. In 2013, to expand its product range, the company commissioned a profile rolling mill designed by SIEMENS / PRIMETALS TECHNOLOGIES, with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons, aiming to establish the company as a recognized brand in profile production. Operating on a 550,000 m² site in Aliağa – İzmir, the company produces 3,100,000 tons of liquid steel and 900,000 tons of ribbed rebar annually. In its steel mill, it manufactures billets sized 150x150 mm for rebar production, and blooms sized 180x180, 220x220, and 280x220 mm for the profile mill. In its integrated rolling facilities, it produces ribbed rebar in diameters from 8 mm to 40 mm. According to Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) 2023 data, the company ranks 49th among Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises and is one of the country’s leading electric arc furnace-based producers. The company’s shares have been traded on the Borsa Istanbul since January 24, 1986, and its capital reached 1,500,000,000 TL after the latest increase in 2021.
