The world-class Q-Chem facility, located in Mesaieed Industrial City, began commercial operations in 2004 following an investment exceeding USD 1 billion. Building on this success, Q-Chem II was launched and started operations in 2010. This facility produces an additional 350,000 MTA of HDPE and introduced the first full-range Normal Alpha Olefins (NAO) unit in Qatar, with a production capacity of 345,000 MTA. With Q-Chem II, the company increased its HDPE production capacity by 77% to 803,000 MTA to serve growing demand across Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Ras Laffan Olefins Company Ltd. (RLOC), owned by Q-Chem II (53.31%), Qatofin (45.69%), and QatarEnergy (1%), inaugurated a 1.3 million MTA ethylene cracker in 2010. Operated by Q-Chem II, the cracker supplies ethylene to downstream facilities in Mesaieed via a 135 km pipeline.
