Founded in 1959 by the Yılancıoğlu family, Yılpar Inc. operated in automotive industry import and distribution until 1970, then transitioned to a producer-investor role and established corrugated cardboard box and paper production facilities. TEKO Alüminyum San. A.Ş. was founded in 1974 by Kadir Mamati in Topkapı, Istanbul. Initially producing industrial aluminum foil products, TEKO expanded its product range by supplying packaging materials to the food and water sectors. With the experience and trust it gained in the industry, the company relocated its production line in 1996, along with many investments, to its current facility in Çorlu. The production line includes four rotogravure printing machines, one metal offset press, five lacquering and lamination machines—two of which can lacquer both sides—one co-extrusion machine, six slitting machines, and many cap-cutting machines. Additionally, numerous presses and screw machines are used in metal cap production. With this machinery lineup, TEKO offers a wide product range. Based on 2011 production capacity, it can produce 2,100,000,000 foil caps, 556,000,000 metal caps, and 108,000,000 m² of printed packaging materials. To better meet market demands and expand into new markets, in 2004 TEKO decided to merge with Berca Metal Cap San. A.Ş., the first company of the group and the sector. Due to its strong brand image, the companies united under the TEKO brand. Under the Berca brand, the company manufactures metal and metal-plastic composite products for the pharmaceutical, food, oil, and beverage sectors.
